Accidental Death and Dismemberment

Accidental Death and Dismemberment

Accidental death is the death occurred due to accident but this excludes some exceptional cases such as death due to war or by any illegal activities.

Dismemberment is the loss of a member i.e. part of arm, leg or hand and if there is any loss regarding this then your respective insurance company will pay you your amount. This insurance has no cash value basis.

Accidental death and dismemberment also known as AD&D insurance can be added to life insurance policies. This acts as the main part of the policy.

AD&D  insurance will not be paid for the following reasons-

  • Physical or mental illness
  • Loss caused accidentally leading to external wound
  • Death due to suicide
  • Injury intentionally
  • Consuming drugs illegally
  • Driving while drinking

Natural occurring causes are fully subjected for the insurance but not the one mentioned above.
